Post-Op Lymphatic Therapy: What to Know After Surgery

Recovery after cosmetic surgery is not one-size-fits-all. Post-op lymphatic therapy is one form of supportive care that may be discussed as part of a recovery plan, depending on your procedure, healing stage, and surgical team’s instructions.

What is post-op lymphatic therapy?

Post-operative lymphatic therapy uses gentle, specialized techniques intended to support fluid movement during recovery. It is different from a general spa massage and should be approached with your procedure and healing status in mind.

When should you start?

There is no universal start date. Your surgeon’s guidance comes first. At Eloria, consultation helps establish what procedure you had, when it was performed, which areas were treated, how healing is progressing, and whether restrictions remain.

Why can the treatment plan change?

Recovery evolves. Early concerns may differ from those that appear later, so session length, areas of focus, and whether tissue-focused care should be discussed can change as healing progresses. Eloria offers individual post-op sessions as well as structured recovery programs for clients who want a longer plan.

What should you ask at consultation?

Bring your procedure date, surgical areas, current concerns, and any written instructions or restrictions from your surgical team. Ask about timing, session length, what the treatment is intended to address, and what signs would mean treatment should be postponed or referred back to your medical provider.

Important: Post-operative care at Eloria does not replace your surgeon or medical care. Treatment depends on healing status and surgical instructions.
